Learn more about our impact throughout the 2024 year below.

United Electronic Recycling began 2024 by achieving a significant milestone in the recycling industry: we earned our R2V3 certification. The R2 is recognized worldwide as the leading standard for responsible practices in the management of used electronics. This certification underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and ensures that we uphold the highest standards in recycling processes. Throughout the year, we expanded our operations, forging partnerships with local communities and businesses to increase awareness and accessibility to sustainable recycling options.

Our Impact:

In 2024, we were able to recycle approximately 5 million pounds of electronics. Diverting these materials from local landfills creates a cleaner environment for all who live in them. To help put that amount of electronics into perspective, that’s equivalent to the weight of 583 elephants!

We continue to follow our mission to make electronic recycling more accessible. This year, we successfully organized 65 electronic recycling events in various locations, including Plano, Euless, College Station, and Moore, partnering with municipalities throughout North Texas and Oklahoma, as well as homeowner associations and community groups. Notably, we held our first free electronic recycling and paper shredding event, open to all DFW area residents. On July 11th, we waived all recycling fees, resulting in participation from 162 vehicles and a total of 15,000 pounds of electronics recycled. Our community’s enthusiastic response inspired us to continue these efforts, and we’re proud to announce our second event, designed to further foster community engagement and environmental responsibility. By offering these services at no cost, we aim to encourage more residents to dispose of their electronic waste responsibly, ensuring that hazardous materials are properly processed and recycled. This initiative not only helps protect our environment but also raises awareness about the importance of sustainable practices. We invite everyone to join us on January 8th and take part in this impactful effort to make DFW a greener, cleaner place for all.

This kind of impact wouldn’t be possible without the help of all our customers. We’re excited to see what the new year brings, as we continue to make an impact in your community and the environment.
