What Is Texas Recycles Day?
Texas Recycles Day is part of America Recycles Day, a nationwide initiative held every November to encourage citizens to recycle more and waste less. The City of Plano celebrates by giving residents an easy and secure way to recycle their old electronics and other hard-to-dispose-of items.
This event isn’t just about recycling — it’s about community action, environmental protection, and responsible disposal.
What Can You Recycle at the Event?
- Bikes for Tykes: Bicycles and tricycles of any size and in any condition.
- Plano Evening Lion’s Club: Eyeglasses will be accepted – glasses cases cannot be accepted.
- Plano Evening Lion’s Club: Hearing aids – any conditions
- Legacy Knit & Crochet Club: Yarn – medium (worsted) weight (#4) in all colors and all brands
- Play It Again Sports: Any team sports inflatables. Fitness gear, treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, weight plates, bars, benches, nor anything with wheels will be accepted.
- United Electronics Recycling: Electronics – accepted items
- Mobile Shred It: Onsite secure paper shredding – two box maximum (standard file box size)
